International Book Giving Day is February 14

Click here to know more about International Book Giving Day

Three simple ways to celebrate International Book Giving Day!

1. Give a Book to a Friend or Relative. - Celebrate International Book Giving Day by providing a child a brand new or used books. This helps spreading the love of reading to everyone.

2. Leave a Book in a Waiting Room or Lobby - Celebrate International Book Giving Day by leaving a book in a room or a lobby where there are a number of children. So choose a waiting room where kids are stuck waiting like clinic, in house playgrounds. Choose a waiting room that has  few to no good books available. Purchase a good book, and deposit your book covertly or overtly in your waiting room of choice. The goal here is to spread the love of reading to kids, so choose a fun book, nothing controversial.

3. Donate a Book - there are a lot of organizations or individuals who focuses on giving books to less fortunate. I myself is engage in collecting books and giving it out to schools like Colalo Elementary School. I am adopting their library and build it a working library. Leave a comment or send me an email at wsa.charlton@gmail.com for details.

As part of our celebration we have our own little way to help and celebrate. We have a small little group called: The Project Mountain Alphabet We will be collecting donations be it old books, school supplies, new books, used clothes, money (to be used in buying other books, etc) until February 14, 2013 and then we will visit Colalo Elementary School as our first beneficiary. We will be adopting their old school library and filling it up with books. Currently they only have 190 old books unearthed from their old school building where it sank during the 1990 heavy monsoon rain. If you have something to share please do contact the organizer by leaving a comment here or sending an email to wsa.charlton@gmail.com We are hoping to hear from everyone soon.
