Maja Blanca or others would
call it “Maja” is one of my favorite dessert. The original Maja blanca is made of mainly
cornstarch, coconut milk and sugar. However, thru the years Maja Blanca has
evolved and different version has been created.
Before, Maja Blanca is
actually serve on special occasions. Nowadays, Maja Blanca can be bought in
school canteens, restaurants, and or even along the streets. For me, I would
consider Maja Blanca as one of the Philippine Street foods as it is literally
found anywhere usually together with other Filipino desserts like puto,
kutsinta, and the like.
Maja Blanca, this luscious dessert
is really very easy to make and the ingredients are very common. Maja Blanca is
also one of the easiest to make. These Holiday season, I came up with my own
version of Maja Blanca which is very good for Christmas and New Year’s snack. I
added cheese to make it creamier and to add texture. I also added corn kernel
and fruit cocktail to add taste and variation. Perfect for Noche Beuna,
Christmas Parties, and of course New Years Eve dinner.
Preparing this fruity maja
blanca is really easy. All you need to do is simply follow the steps indicated
in this maja blanca recipe. Tip, it is really important to give the coconut
milk time to boil and to be cooked. Also, make sure to mix the main ingredients
properly.
Try this Maja Blanca and let
me know what you think.
