My Top 5 Valentines Day Destination

Valentines Day is just around the corner. I can actually feel that love is in the air but are you planning to have an early summer vacation or a moment spent with your hobby or honey? Guess what... Here's my top 5 Valentines Day Destination

  1. Baguio City - is at the top of my list because of so many reason. I also think that the cold weather of Baguio City compliments for every couple visiting Baguio.

Here's a quick glimpse on what to expect when you travel to Baguio City this February.

The Burnham Park

Baguio Cathedral
The famous Baguio Cathedral is a must see during your stay in Baguio City. A place where couples could exchange "I Love You" after praying is such a cool place for them to renew their promises even more stronger.

Of course Burnham Park is just a place for everyone. Strolling while holding each other's arm without worrying about getting wet and stinky because of perspiration.
Lourdes Grotto
Another place to visit in Baguio is the Lourdes Grotto. Truly famous among traveler and to Roman Catholic as well.

Tam-awan Village
A visit to Tam-awan village in the afternoon is also a good idea. You've got to experience how the tribal Igorots live before, their food and their shelter as well. You can even book a room so you could try sleeping in one of those nippa huts built specially for guests. You can even request for a candle lighting dinner while the clouds are really low during dinner or late afternoon. Eating the Igorot delicacies called Etag.

2. Not far from Baguio City is Sagada. Approximately around 5 hour bus drive from Baguio city. Sagada is also one of my top priority list when it comes to Valentines Day getaway. The luxurious mossy forest, spring like weather and enchanting tourist destination is just right for the Season of Love or the LOVE MONTH.

Wanna have a quick glimpse of what Sagada could give you, Here's just a few of them:

Sagada Cave
The beautiful and enchanting Sagada Cave is just a cream of the crop so they say. Walking on the slippery stone, sound of the creaking bats, sound of the dripping water from up above seems like a love song played in the cave. The dark cave seems creepy but the beauty is actually inside when you try to slide and glide on the stone walls and swim along the cave water running smoothly. The stalagmite and stalactite are just so magnificent as they form a work of art.
Bumod-ok
The magnificent BIG FALL or the BUMOD-OK Falls stands above the rest. His power is beyond imagination as she flickers a dust of water into the air forming rainbow in a broad day light is simply an attraction. The cold water rushing down the mountain is really inviting after a long walk along the rice paddies. It simply washes away your worries and brings joy to the heart is just a perfect place of romantic couple seeking adventure this HEARTS MONTH!

The Hanging Coffins

Tribal as may sound and maybe inappropriate for the Love Month but the Hanging Coffins of Sagada Cave is just a blockbuster among travelers. Maybe because it gives them the story of how Igorots once upon a time value their dead. It could be a story of love as well making sure their departed loved ones are well protected by the hungry animals and so to put them to rest in such a difficult cliff is simply amazing.

3. The Amazing Banawe Rice Terraces - is also a must see tourist destination in the North. A welcoming terrains, luxurious mossy forest coupled with the welcoming and warm smiles from the people of Banawe is just so perfect for a Valentines getaway. Fresh air, fresh fruits and vegetable and totally fresh and new ambiance is just the perfect place to get away from the stressful life of the city.

4. Anawangin Cove - is also a perfect getaway during Valentines. Situated along Pundakit Zambales. Its one of the nearest beaches near Metro Manila. The reach water of the sea splashes as the fisherman's boat travels from the mainland to Anawangin Cove. This is your perfect getaway if you do not have the luxury of time to travel in far places of the north. A good substitute for the thrilling fun of travelling to North.

Here's what to expect:

1. A wonderful boat ride experience is expected as you need to travel

2. Island hoping, snorkeling, mountain climbing and of course the thrilling camping is what you would expect to do during your stay in this magnificent one of its kind Valentines Getaway.

5. Don't have the budget and the time? Worry No More.... Travel within Metro Manila is also a wonderful experience. I call it STAYCATION. Metro Manila has so many attractions to offer. My favorite of course is INTRAMUROS "The Walled City" and the old churches like Baclaran Church.

Here are some of the scenes you may wanna visit or try in Intramuros and Baclaran Church.

Kalesa or calesa is a horse drown carriage used in the olden times as a means of transportation. The couple can ride on a Kalesa as you roam around Intramuros.
Intramuros is very famous because of it was built by the Spaniards. The reach culture and architectural design was definitely a must see in this place.

Once your inside Intramuros you can definitely imagine how Spaniards has lived in this walled city.
THE CHURCHES:

Manila Cathedral is situated inside Intramuros and it is one of the oldest church in the Philippines. I am totally amazed on the facade of the said building because of the intricate architectural design. Imagine this was built during the Spanish time and it is still standing proud inside Intramuros.

San Agustin Church is also one of the best Churches because of its age. Also, a lot of religious artifacts can be seen inside the said church. The holiness of the church can be felt when inside. Try it and be amazed it is one of the best feeling ever.

When you say Oldest Church, the Baclaran Church is always on top of the billing. Hundreds of people go to this church everyday and thousand of church goers visits Baclaran Church every Wednesday as it is Baclaran Day...
So plan for your vacation now... Where will you go this Valentines Day?
